WISER Project: A Pioneering Initiative to Empower Migrant Women through Social Entrepreneurship

Technology is ageless

The WISER project, funded by the European Union, is a forward-thinking initiative that seeks to empower migrant women across Europe by encouraging and facilitating their participation in social entrepreneurship. Recognising the unique challenges faced by migrant women, including high levels of unemployment and social exclusion, WISER aims to break down the barriers that often prevent these women from pursuing entrepreneurial opportunities.

Over the course of 24 months, WISER will offer a comprehensive programme tailored specifically to the needs of migrant women. This programme includes in-depth training sessions that focus on essential entrepreneurial skills, from business planning to financial management. Additionally, participants will benefit from personalised mentoring, where experienced professionals will guide them through the complexities of starting and sustaining a social enterprise.

A key component of the WISER project is its focus on building inclusive local ecosystems that support the growth of migrant women-led social enterprises. By fostering partnerships between local governments, non-profits, and the private sector, WISER aims to create an environment where migrant women can thrive as entrepreneurs. This holistic approach ensures that participants are not only equipped with the necessary skills but also have access to the networks and resources needed to succeed.

Moreover, the project is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of inclusive entrepreneurship. Through various campaigns and outreach activities, WISER seeks to challenge stereotypes and change the narrative around migrant women in business.
