Panevėžys Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts is in progress of launching a new service – consultancy hub designed to empower immigrant women in Lithuania to start their own social businesses. This initiative of AMIF project WISER aims to provide essential information, assessment, support and guidance to help these individuals turn their entrepreneurial dreams into reality.
Migrants do not find easy to find their place in a new country, especially those fleeing war-torn regions. Ukrainian women with children are a significant portion of the recent influx to Lithuania, including Panevėžys.
Starting a business can be a daunting task even for locals, but migrant women often face unique obstacles. In order to recognise these challenges, a survey prepared by our partners was conducted to 25 migrant women, 5 stakeholders with knowledge in the area were interviewed as well. Their insights and field research are going to be the foundation of shaping the new service in Panevėžys Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts.
We’ve established partnerships with other Lithuanian organisations active in this field. We appreciate motivation and active involvement in future mentorship and networking of Panevėžys Business Women Network. Their input will be a significant milestone for reaching the results of WISER project.
